...a healthy community for all
MISSION & VISION
Our Vision: A community where there is no homelessness.
Our Mission: To work to end homelessness by providing housing, services, advocacy, and education.
Homefull was founded in 1988 by Sister Dorothy Kammerer and other committed volunteers as The Other Place as the community's response to needing another place for the homeless to go during the day. Since then, and after changing it's name to Homefull in 2010, the organization has grown significantly and takes a comprehensive approach to addressing poverty in general which is the root cause of homelessness. Homefull is still headquartered in Dayton and also operates programs in Columbus and 15 other Ohio counties. It employs nearly 100 passionate professionals and provides services to over 2,000 households on any given day.
Our staff is unmatched in its creativity and commitment to finding solutions to issues that our neighbors are facing on a daily basis. Part of this is because of a core group of people who have a combined 150 years of experience with Homefull and all of whom began on the front lines providing direct service to our clients.
DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION
We believe that our mission is most effectively fulfilled through a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion as core values and in practice. Building and sustaining diversity, equity and inclusion requires an ongoing commitment that must find full expression in our organizational culture and values and throughout our work.
To best plan for our future, Homefull created key objectives and initiatives that represent major priorities to be accomplished over the next five years.
Homefull sets a high bar when it comes to professional and ethical practices and is accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) which confirms adherence to these standards. Read more about our policies below.
Homefull has made it a regular practice to set internal goals for performance and to report on the progress toward those goals annually to our stakeholders, which include clients, employees, Board Members, and community partners. These goals help us ensure we are providing quality services to our clients and are focused on outcomes that are positive for their lives.
Homefull operates within ethical and transparent fiduciary standards. We publish an Annual Report each year that gives an overview of the organization and the critical services it provides to the community. It also includes financial and other administrative information. You can see latest version below as well as our organization's information on Guidestar.
